Additional Note: The 388 is a Mercuric-Oxide cell of nearly the same dimensions as the 329. The 388 Mercury cells are no longer manufactured because of their toxicity. Although the electrical properties are different, if your requirement is to replace a 388, you may consider using this higher voltage Silver-Oxide 329 in its place. To do so would require a 329-to-388 converter (adapter grommet), which is a small plastic spacer that bulks out the 329 to be the same size as the 388 cell.
